Haftasonu! / Weekend!

Haftasonu tatili geldi çok şükür! 
Burada okulların Çarşamba günü başlıyor olması çok güzel, böylece insan bunalıma girmiyor çünkü 2 gün sonra haftasonu tatili olduğunu bilmek insanı rahatlatıyor. 😊

Thank God it's Friday! 
I like that school starts on Wednesday here. 
So that you know in just 2 days it's going to be weekend and you don't get depressed lol.

Haftasonu ne yapacağım bilmiyorum. Bir saat daha fazla uyumak, biraz kitap okumak ve elişi yapmak istiyorum. Estate sale gezmek, güzel bir iki fincan demlik almak istiyorum. 
Güzel bir yerde kahve içmek, güneşlenmek D vitamini almak istiyorum biraz. 


I haven't figured out what to do this weekend yet, but I know I want to wake up one hour late, read, and crochet. I want to check out some estate sales and find some good stuff like teacups and teapots. And I definitely want to have coffee in a nice little coffee shop, and get some Vitamin D from the Sun. Hope I don't get a sunstroke in this crazy Alabama heat, lol!
Let's see what happens.

One of my kiddos brought me a delicious apple today! Because we give the teacher an apple!

Bu sabah çocuklarıma kitap okudum. Kitabın ismi 'Wemberly Worried', yani 'Endişeli Wemberly'.

Kitabı okuduk, arada durup sorular yönelttim. Bir çocuğa kitap okurken kesinlikle ses tonumuza dikkat etmeliyiz, robot gibi okursak sıkılırlar. 

Her farklı karaktere farklı bir ses tonu verince çok ilgilerini çekiyor. 

Ben ayrıca kapı vurulma sesi, ayakkabı sesi gibi sesleri de yapmaya çalışıyorum elimden geldiğince.

Bir de küçük yaş gruplarında kitap okurken yanlarında bir oyuncak ayı vs. bulundurmak onları çok rahatlatıyor. Ben de bazen oyuncak getirip, karakterin yaptığı hareketleri ona yaptırıyorum, bu da kafalarında somutlaştırmalarına yardımcı oluyor. 

We did a read aloud in the class today. We read 'Wemberly Worried' by Kevin Henkes. I love Kevin Henkes books! What's your opinion?

I paused at some points and asked questions. 

-Why do you think Wemberly is worried about everything?

-Was she right about getting worried?

-How many of her worries actually did happen?

And so on. They were really interested in this book. 

Next week I'll read 'Lily's Purple Plastic Purse'. And we'll do a little craft activity in the class.

I always try to vary the volume of my voice when I'm reading to my kids - whisper, loud, soft, etc. and I like adding a little drama by animating the toys, or doing some sound effects (footsteps, door knock etc.) 

This helps them connect with the text and entice my little listeners, as well as showing them the fun in reading.

Sağ taraftaki öğrencim bir yerinde duramadı kıpır kıpır siz görmüyorsunuz ama belki saçlarını görürsünüz çok komik 😄

Okuduğum kitap bu. Kitabı okuduktan sonra, karakter şeması ve konu şeması çıkardık.

Endişeli Wemberly neler için endişeleniyor? Biz neler için endişe ediyoruz?

Peki endişe ettiğimiz şeylerin ne kadarı gerçek oldu? 

Boşuna mı endişelenmişiz, vs gibi konuştuk. 

After we read the book, we did a character map and we wrote down our worries. 

Then we discussed the book.

Bu ara her yaptığımı yazasım var ama bir öğretmenin hayatı malum, genelde aynı şeyleri yapmakla geçiyor, çoluk çocuk kitap vs.

Okuldan sonra eve gelip yemek yapıyor, çay demleyip içiyorum 😊 Hatta şu an bunları yazarken bir bardak aldım kendime. Dışarıda feci bir yağmur var. Kediler beslendi, biri yatağımızda uyuyakaldı. 

Hava boğucu derecede sıcak. Uykum var ama uyumamam lazım bugün Cuma 😍

I want to keep a record of everything I do at school nowadays. 

I come home and cook after school. Then I have a cup of tea. Actually as I'm writing these I'm having my tea 😊 There's a heavy rain outside. The cats have been fed, one of them is taking a nap on our bed. 

It was a very hot day today. Temperature was around 95's. 

I'm sleepy but I really shouldn't go to bed yet. Come on, it's Friday night! 😫😴
